Our owners and founders are Michael Barbanente and Matthew Randazzo. Both Mike and Matt are Mechanical Engineers who are fully dedicated to making sure you receive an outstanding experience and product with our refrigerated ice rinks. Our owners have been designing and implementing refrigerated rinks across the USA for residential and light commercial applications for over a decade. They purchased their first refrigerated rink as an R and D project a decade ago in 2014 from a local resident. The serial number on that chiller dated back to 2005. This chiller has run every winter season in Chicago since 2015. Check out the picture below of Matt dragging the chiller across the streets of Chicago.

What happened to all of Matt’s hair?

Since then, we have chipped away and have had customers trust us nation wide. 

Side note: Mike and Matt have been best friends since 1985, they went to the same grade school and graduated from the same High School. 

We started in Chicagoland and the expanded first to the Midwest. Today we cover all the way from Atlanta to Washington State. In 2024, we went west of the Rockies! We are excited to now have rink customers in Seattle Washington, Scottsdale Arizona and Denver, Colorado, and Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Check out our customer map below.

Here at Iron Sleek refrigerated rinks, we uniquely have custom made “ice making” chillers that are implemented into your rink design. The right chillers for your rink is an essential design element along with having the correcting pumping and piping system.

We build and modify roll out pipes and headers to fit your rink area. We use UV Resistant Polyethylene tubing designed for rugged outdoor applications.

We have our own durable and beautiful rink boards along with all of the custom hardware to build a rink enclosure.
